About the organiser and the conference:

ARTAM – Aiding Resolution Through Advanced Methods, an organisation built up to promote ADR Mechanisms is organising its third regional workshop on Mediation- an Alternative Dispute Resolution technique for students of law. The workshop is scheduled to be on 12-03-2019 at School of Legal Studies, palayad. ARTAM associated with District Legal Service Authority, Kannur and SLS, Palayad hosts this event.

Eligibility:

It’s for undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing their career in law. It would be an added advantage if the candidate is particularly interested in ADR. The resource persons for the workshop are eminent personalities who are acting sub judges and personnel of DLSA along with advocates handling international law firms.

Themes:

• Introduction to ADR.
• Different methods of ADR like mediation, arbitration, conciliation etc.
• Detailed class on meditation technique.
• Court referred to mediation.
• Advantages and benefits of ADR compared to the adversarial system.
