About LaMCRESA
LaMCRESA (Law Matters Centre for Research, Education, and Social Action) has been a non-political, non-sectarian, and non-profit organisation with a primary focus on Research, Education, and Social Action conjoining the inherently interrelated fields of Law, Technology, and Society. Starting from 2016, LaMCRESA has undertaken several projects including those of The Law Blog, Challenging Hypocrisy, Writing For A Change, Law Matters Online Academy etc.
Call for Applications
Applications are invited for the contractual position of two full-time research fellows (Law) for LaMCRESA at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Eligibility and Application Process
Anyone with a graduate (LL.B.) or post-graduate (LL.M.) degree in Law, with demonstrated expertise in interdisciplinary research can apply. Students in the final-year of their law course are also eligible to apply.
Interested candidates must submit their applications by email to anshuman@thelawblog.in with a cc to lawmattersngo@gmail.com. The application should be accompanied by the following documents as PDF attachments:
- Recent one-page CV
- Two writing samples (published/unpublished)
- An essay explaining your experience with Intellectual Property Law and Technology Law (Word limit – 200 words)
- A statement of purpose
The subject of the email should mention “Application for Research Fellowship 2019”. The mail should reach us by 20 November 2018.
Responsibilities of the Research Fellows
The research fellows are expected to assist the centre in carrying out high-quality research work on various interdisciplinary projects touching upon various aspects of Law, Society, and Technology. The nature of the work may include field study, data analysis, report drafting, paper writing, policy drafting etc. The research fellows may also be entrusted to supervise the legal interns working in the organisation.
Stipend and Remuneration
The research fellows shall be provided a stipend of INR 40,000 per month. In addition, the fellows may be provided with TA/DA depending upon the nature of their work.
There’s no provision for living or medical allowance. The fellows are required to arrange their own accommodation.
