About the internship:
Prof. Shubhankar Dam, Singapore Management University School of Law, Singapore, is looking for 2 research assistants to conduct research on a topic on law and governance in India. It will involve collecting and collating data, locating legislation and articles, finding cases and preparing notes etc.
NOTE: Professor Dam is a graduate of NUJS, did his BCL from Oxford and LLM from Harvard.
Basic knowledge of modern Indian political history will be useful! The work will be done in Delhi, and mostly at the Nehru Library, National Archives, ILI Library, the Supreme Court library and if necessary at the Delhi Judicial Academy.
Who can apply:
Law students who are currently pursuing LLM, or are in their senior years at a law school.
Location:
The work will be done in libraries in New Delhi. As such, interns must be based in Delhi. This work cannot be done by students who are not based in Delhi.
Duration:
Students will work full time for about 6-8 weeks starting May 2014. Only students who are able to commit themselves to a full time internship need apply. Interns will be paid a stipend.
Subject to the quality of the work done, one of the RAs may be rehired for the next phase of the project.
