Position
Nyaya Bharti a corporate social responsibility initiative of Bharti Enterprises, is in the process of augmenting its existing team of young Advocates for taking up cases meeting Nyaya Bharti mandate in trial courts located in National Capital Region and selected cities of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.
PQE
Advocates having trial experience in criminal matters of one to four years and passion for working towards cause of the underprivileged, with intent to be with Nyaya Bharti at least for one year on full-time basis, may respond by submitting their resume, latest by 10th December, 2016.
About Nyaya Bharti
The primary objective of Nyaya Bharti is to provide assistance to the underprivileged under trials who are first time offenders accused of petty offences and meet Nyaya Bharti mandate. The legal and in some cases, financial assistance is towards applying for bail and release.
Financial assistance towards payment of fines in selected cases, is also extended to poor first time convicts undergoing imprisonment for petty offences due to their inability to pay fine imposed by the courts.
Responsibility
Selected applicants would be expected to undertake all tasks involving:
- Coordinating with District and State Legal Services Authorities;
- Coordinating with prison authorities to ensure effective access to prison records;
- Visiting, interacting and providing legal aid to jail inmates
- Appearing and moving bail applications before the trial courts and managing the bail process
