Law Commission of India, Commonwealth Legal Education Association (CLEA) Asia – India and Lloyd Law College are organizing the prestigious CLEA Regional Conference on the topic Freedom of Speech and Expression‟ from 5th to 6th November, 2016 at Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida.
Freedom of speech and expression like the rights to life and liberty is an ever expanding circle. This very expansion brings with it challenges and concerns.

The object of the conference is to provide an excellent opportunity for sharing of every possible understanding, ideas and views relating to freedom of speech and expression: to receive wisdom from all possible source and fuse them into our administration of justice.

Submission Guidelines
Abstracts:
There is no streamlined format for the abstract. Authors must identify their chosen sub-theme in their abstracts. Co-authorship is allowed, subject to a maximum of two authors.
One Co-Author only will be allowed to present the paper at the conference; however the other Co-Author’s presence is essential during the paper presentation for certificate purposes.
Main Paper:
1. The length of the paper shall not exceed 4500 words, excluding footnotes and the abstract.
2. The submission shall be in MS-Word format (.doc or .docx) and must be typed in A4 paper with one inch margin on all the sides.
3. Font size shall be Times New Roman 12, with 1.5 spacing. Font size for the footnotes shall be Times New Roman 10, with 1 spacing.
4. Bluebook 20th Edition citation shall be followed.
5. Authors whose abstracts are selected after initial screening must confirm their participation by fulfilling registration requirements.
Assessment Criteria for Selection of Abstracts
The following criteria will be followed in the selection of abstracts:
1. Relevance of the topic and the accompanying substance
2. Continuity of thought in presentation
3. Originality. Plagiarism in any form is not permitted.
Participants
The event is open for contributions from Judicial Members and Policymakers, Lawyers, Academicians and Legal Research Scholars (Ph.D and LL.M./M.Phil) from India or abroad to investigate, appraise and review laws relating to the freedom of speech and expression to foster better understanding and insight of the law in their scope, operation, interpretation and application.
Registration
Authors whose abstracts are selected after initial screening must get registration details from Mr. Aakash Sharma, General Convener, CLEA Conference – 2016 and confirm their participation by sending in the duly filled in Registration Form to cleaconference@lloydedu.in by 17th October, 2016 latest by 11.59 p.m.
Paper Submission
The authors submitting papers must attach a Plagiarism Report alongside their submission.
All submissions shall be made to cleaconference@lloydedu.in on or before 17th October, 2016 latest by 11.59 p.m.
Publication & Award
Out of the papers presented at the conference, selected papers shall be published by the committee as an ISBN Book.
Two superlative individual paper presentations at the conference shall be awarded with the CLEA Best Research Paper Award.
Accommodation, Hospitality & Conveyance
Participants interested in availing accommodation must inform their requirements to the Convenor by email to cleaconference@lloydedu.in at the time of paper submission to enable the organizers to make necessary arrangements. Participants shall be provided local hospitality during the conference. Travel and conveyance shall be borne by the participants themselves.
