Dear Tanuj ji,
While providing the information on Internship opportunities please give information Statewise ( East, South, West, North ) citywise. Such information will motivate others to provide more information relating to the vacancies. We had 29 States and 7 U.Ts. Such analysis will also give clues from where more opportunities available will be known.
I kept the information of Lawctopus in the Notice Board of our Bar Association and also forwarded the information to my friends in Andhra Pradesh and suggested the Advocates to visit your site. Reason basing on the job requirement Young Law Students and Advocates will mould their life and in due course of time they will bring out their best skills particularly at Trial Court level. After few years of litigation practice they can keep on their toes on their own.
Young Law Students and Advocates have to know one thing .. once you entered into the legal profession you may not have the work 24×7 days. Particularly at Trial Courts Advocates have a lot of time to read in initial stages. To sharpen their skills they can join the Certificate or Diploma, UG or PG courses being offered by the institutions like IGNOU relating to Cyberlaws, Patents Practice, Criminal Justice, Gender and Development Studies etc. These courses are affordable to all and available in both distance and online mode. Students can appear for exams at the district head quarters also.
After completion of PG students can opt for Ph.D./M.Phil also. ( visit : IGNOU Research Handbook and Prospectus 2013 …

(Check for the latest Research Handbook and Prospectus visit this link also : http://www.ignou.ac.in/ )
In my opinion one of the reasons for lack of opportunities to Trial Court Advocates is majority are limited their practice to mere Civil or Criminal or both laws. Few are dealing with Consumer cases or Arbitration or pre-litigation matters Motor Accident cases ( generally known Accident O.P. cases ). Very few are practicing Income Tax, Sales Tax, Service Tax, VAT or Indirect Taxes. Those who are practicing Environmental Laws are very, very few at Trial Court level.
Mainly CAs are concentrating on tax matters. Sec. 288 ( 2) (iii) of Income Tax Act, Advocates can practice as Tax Consultant and also eligible to appear upto Supreme Court. Income Tax, Customs and Central Excise are Central Laws ( One has to refer Finance Act, every year ). Other laws like Sales Tax are State laws.
Not only that Companies with less than 50 lakhs Share Capital can utilize the services of Advocate as Company Secretary, if the Share Capital increases they have to use full time Company Secretary.
Dist level companies can utilize the services of Advocates as Company Secretary. The only thing is the said Advocates have to know the nature of work and requirements of the Company. ( Ref. Companies Act, 2013 ).
By not concentrating on Direct and Indirect Taxes, Companies Act and related Acts at Dist. level Advocates are losing their opportunities. Otherwise CAs and CSs will dominate these areas. Of course, their representation is limited upto Tribunals whereas Advocates are authorized to represent upto Supreme Court.
Dear Sir,
Thank you for encouraging your colleagues to visit Lawctopus.
And thanks a lot for your valuable comments and suggestions.
We’ll try our best to classify the opportunities location wise.
Best,
Thank you Sir,
All the best.
