Oxford University’s Refugee Study Centre (RSC) is organising the 27th edition of the International Summer School in Forced Migration.
This Summer School offers an intensive, interdisciplinary and participative approach to the study of forced migration.
It aims to enable people working with refugees and other forced migrants to reflect critically on the forces and institutions that dominate the world of the displaced, opening up debate about the purposes and scope of international protection.

Module
Mandatory core modules include: Conceptualising forced migration; The globalisation of forced migration; Asylum policy and international refugee law; Negotiating institutional responses; Internally displaced persons.
Fee
The fee for the 2016 Session is £3,380 (approx. 4341 EUR).
The fee includes 19 nights’ bed-and-breakfast accommodation; all tuition; all course materials, including reading materials; and a range of social activities.
Lunches, evening and weekend meals are not included in the course fee.
The RSC is making available three bursaries to attend the Summer School to exceptional candidates who are nationals of a developing country, are resident in a developing country, and whose work concerns refugees and/or forced migration.
Eligibility
Practitioners and policymakers working with and for refugees and related issues;
Academics and postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers working directly on refugee and forced migration issues;
Practicing lawyers and advocates working in refugee and human rights law pertaining to forced migrants;
Journalists, commentators and activists working on refugee protection and the human rights of forced migrants.
Applicants are required to have a first degree as a minimum, and to prove their proficiency in the English language (7.00 in ELTS/IELTS or 570 in TOEFL).
